What is OneRio?

One Rio Beautification3OneRio is a PTSA booster group. We are a collective of Rio Resources: human resources committed to working together as a united unit to help Rio Americano shine. Our goal is to support Rio school spirit and pride events and projects in any way possible: sweat equity, monetary donations, time donations, fundraising, matching our skill sets and connections to help Rio Americano be a fitting reflection of the amazing community of people that it is.*

Our Goal:

To support Rio school spirit, school culture and the community by being a part of positive change.  We are collaborating with PTSA, the district, administration, faculty and student leaders.  We plan to bring back a school that will shine as bright on the outside as our students and neighborhood does on the inside.

Thanks to Measure N voter approved funds Rio will finally be getting some of the attention it deserves and OneRio has been working hard behind the scenes to guide this progress. March 2016, crews will be breaking ground on a new Performance and Academic Center. The summer of 2016 Rio major improvements to campus will also begin. (See sidebar: What Has Rio Been Up To?)

OneRio plans to bring additional changes to Rio so that new building will shine on our campus rather then be a contrast to blight and disrepair.

One of our biggest accomplishments to date is getting the approval to have the outside of the school painted summer 2016 that will include the addition of new lockers. We jump-started the beautification process by having Rio student artists paint a beautiful Koi Pond ground mural in the quad and replacing worn out signage and mulch over the 2015 summer.  In addition, we are returning spirit to the campus by establishing monthly Friday Festivals.  We initiated a RIO branding campaign with updated merchandise and logos. We replaced failed fundraising events with successful campaigns designed to build school pride and spirit.

Stay tuned, there is much more to come and you can be a part of this school pride and spirit movement by becoming a Rio Resource!
