OneRio May Update: Rio Resources Needed for our Kids!

Volunteers Needed for Our
2017 Rio Graduates!

The goal for all our Rio students and parents is to end up here: Graduation and its celebration for 4 years of hard work!

So let’s all help each other make it to the finish line together! Please considrer volunteering for one shift at this year’s Safe & Sober Grad Night for the senior class of 2017. While senior parents have planned the event, traditionally parents of juniors, sophomores, and freshmen work the event. It’s a great opportunity for us to learn how to put on a Grad Night for our soon to be seniors. We need door monitors, bus chaperones, sheriff helpers, and people to help with the check-in room. This is such a great Rio tradition and a wonderful bonding event for the seniors!

This year, Grad Night is being held at Strikes Unlimited in Rocklin. On grad night, the seniors will board buses at Rio and be driven to Strikes. They will then stay at Strikes for the entire night where they’ll be able to bowl, play arcade games, get henna tattoos, take silly photo booth pictures, dance, and so much more! At the end of the event, they’ll even get to participate in a professional hypnotist show! After all the fun, they’ll board buses at Strikes and be driven back to Rio at sunrise.

If you’d like to be one of the awesome Rio Resources to make this event great for our graduating seniors, please sign up for a shift HERE!

Volunteers Need for Rio Fireworks Booth!

The 4th of July is right around the corner and the RAAB fireworks booth is one of Rio Sports biggest fundraisers.

Please help get our Rio athletes off to a good start for the 2017/18 school year by buying your fireworks from Rio and/or volunteering to work one, or several, shifts at our TNT booth in the Whole Foods shopping center open June 28 to July 4 9:00am to 9:00pm.

Rio Field of Dreams 2018
Our new track and field facility will be installed Summer of 2018! But to ensure the best possible facilities and ammenities are offered to our Rio community a fundraising effort is needed to supplement what is being installed and continue improving the surrounding sporting facilities (in a timely manner).

To meet these goals the Rio Field of Dreams Committee is offering opportunities to be a Rio Resource for our student athletes (and PE students) with SponsorshipNaming Rights, and Legacy Bricks.

You may also donate directly to the effort via the Rio Americano Athletic Boosters (RAAB) 4540 American River Dr, Sacramento CA 95864. Please indicate Fields of Dreams on the check or simply donate through our RAAB – Fields of Dreams PayPal site.

Schedule & Textbook Pick-Up 2017/18
Many hands make light work and our wonderful school secretary, Karen Cassady, could use our help making her load lighter. Not only does she need 12-15 volunteers each shift for each check-in day to help pass out schedules and textbooks in August, she also needs a volunteer coordinator for these shifts:There are two shifts each day for volunteers, 7:45 AM – 10:30 AM or 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM for these check-in days –

Seniors: Wednesday, August 2, 2017

Juniors:  Thursday, August 3, 2017

Sophomores: Friday, August 4, 2017

Freshman: Monday, August 7, 2017

If you are interested in being a Rio Resource to Karen and to help our students through each station as quickly as possible please contact Karen Cassady, principal’s secretary, at kcassady@sanjuan.edu Karen will work with your schedule to place you on a shift that will work for you (and a coordinator could help make a Sign-Up Genius!)
