Rio Wreaths Tradition Makes the News (Again)

Thank you to everyone who supported our Rio Wreaths FUNdraiser! We surpassed last year’s sales of fresh evergreen wreaths and centerpieces, making nearly $1,500 that will support Rio school pride and spirit projects and events like these:

OneRio supported Rio’s ILS (Independent Living Skills) class in a tradition started last year in conjuction with Rio Wreaths. The class made fresh swag wreaths with help at lunch from the Rio student body on December 6 during a holiday party. They then delivered 50 wreaths the next day for the doors of every senior resident at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility on Fair Oaks Blvd. The 2-day event was covered by ABC10 and shown on the 6pm news on Dec. 7. (Click HERE to watch.)

Thank you to Heather Ludwig, Wendy Finnecy, Jenie Sawyer, Kelli Wheeler and the ILS class for creating this wonderful holiday tradition of Rio students reaching out the community in another wonderful example of #GreatThingsAreHappeningAtRio

Rio Wrestlers Feed the Homeless
In another example of #GreatThingsAreHappeningAtRio here is a note from new wrestling coach, Rich Santana, on a great preseason bonding event:
As a Coach, I believe in giving back to the community. Our wrestlers will be working with the community throughout the year. After the experience, they were thankful for being able to feed the homeless, as most of them have never done anything like that before. Rio Wrestling will continue to be an extension into our community and represent Rio Americano as ambassadors of good will in the Sacramento region.
