Good Things Are Happening at Rio!
It’s all about perspective. You can see mess and inconvenience or you can see progress and exciting change (finally!).
As you can see, or will see as schedule pick-up and first day of school quickly approaches, Rio is under construction. Some of the things we thought would happen this summer have happened: Construction of Rio’s Performing and Academic Center, painting of the school, refinishing of the gym floors, new sewage and irrigation pipes, UPGRADED TURF AREAS TO CREATE 3 SOCCER REGULATION PLAYING FIELDS IN TIME FOR 6 LEVELS OF SOCCER THIS WINTER plus temporary bleachers for the 2016-17 school year at the football/soccer field.
Some of the things we thought would happen this summer didn’t happen: new lockers, updated locker rooms, new landscaping and hardscape for Senior Lawn and front of school, new front entrance and directional signage.
Due to delays all the way to the state level, our aggressive timeline for Rio school improvements couldn’t all be accomplished this summer. But the$15.5 million in improvements for our Rio students will be accomplished by the 2017-18 school year.
Things may look worse before they look better, but people have been working hard to bring progress to Rio and this is what progress looks like. |
